1) Visit the Townships: Safe guided tours give you an eye-opening glimpse into the lives of most South Africans. 1/2 day or whole day tours available.
2) Visit the winelands: A guided tour of the Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschoek wine areas.These full day tour include lunch and winetasting.
3) Visit The Cape of Good Hope: "Where 2 oceans don't actually meet". This is a full day tour of the whole Cape Peninsula, taking in Hout Bay, The Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and the Boulders Beach Penguin Colony. Includes lunch and entry fees.

In
addition, you can do the following without needing a guide or a booking agent:
1) Table Mountain: although there are guided walks on the mountain, you can go up and down yourself using the cable car or hike on the paths that lead to the top.
2) Kirstenbosch gardens: a visit to the world famous botanical gardens is a must when in Cape Town. Combine a visit here with a walk up Table Mountain to create an ideal full day adventure.
3) Robben Island: book yourself a ticket, get on the boat and visit the infamous island. This 3½ hour tour will leave you suitably informed about the changing nature of this country.
There are also many museums and galleries dotted around the city centre, and the Waterfront shopping district offers world class shopping in a beautiful harbour setting.
