Day 1 - Cederberg Mountains
We begin our journey at the Long Street, Cape Town. Our first stop is Tableview where, weather permitting, we can view Table Mountain. Continuing north we reach the Cederberg Mountain area in the early afternoon. Winter or Summer, this region offers a variety of outdoor activities. During the cooler months the hot springs at Citrusdal offer warmth, while in summer months we spend the afternoon walking in the area or relaxing at the camp. In the afternoon we spend some time learning about the truck and camp equipment.

Day 2 - Gariep (Orange) River
Leaving the Cederberg region, we travel through Namaqualand and across the Namibian Border on the Gariep (Orange) River. We spend the night on the banks of the river, getting to know each other around the campfire.

Namaqualand

Day 3 - Gariep (Orange) River
In the summer we recommend on overnight adventure - canoeing down the river – spending a night out in the wild. In the cooler winter months our groups prefer a day trip on the river – returning to the warmth of the tents in the evening. If you decide against the canoe experience, enjoy your time swimming, watching birds and investigating the interesting geographical features that are unique to the Richtersveld.

Day 4 - Fish River Canyon
Our destination is the awesome Fish River Canyon, the second largest in the world, where
we will enjoy the sunset and a sundowner at the edge of this imposing natural wonder.

Day 5 - Namib Nakluft
From the canyon we continue on into the remote Namibian hinterland. We arrive at Sesriem Camp in the early afternoon and have time to go for a walk down into the geologically remarkable Sesriem Canyon. We camp for the night under the stars, beside the fire, surrounded by the shifting dunes and desert silence.

Day 6 - Sossusvlei Dunes
A very early start is needed to see the sunrise from the top of the magnificent dunes. A large breakfast awaits your descent from the dunes. A short drive takes us to the 2x4 parking area – from where you can either walk in and out of Sossusvlei, take a 4x4 transfer, or educate yourself about this unique eco-system on a hike led by an experienced local guide. The afternoon is spent at a beautiful campsite near Solitaire, the smallest town in Namibia.

Day 7 - Swakopmund
We set off early for a dramatic drive through the arid Namib Nakluft towards the seaside resort-town of Swakopmund. If we are lucky the resident flamingo flock can be seen at Walvis Bay en route. The evening is spent in hostel-style accommodation and you have the option of enjoying a dinner at a local restaurant serving the catch of the day from the local fishermen. We may also be joined by some additional travellers for our onward journey to Vic Falls this evening.

Day 8 - Swakopmund
Today is devoted to the adventure options in-and-around Swakopmund. We may choose to do some shopping in town or head for the beach. This is the last evening for those on the Cape Town to Swakopmund tour, and we welcome travellers joining us on our onward route up to Victoria Falls.

Day 9 - Spitzkoppe
We leave Swakopmund to visit the largest seal colony on the African coast at Cape Cross. We head north towards the mysterious Spitzkoppe, a sacred site of the San people. We have the chance to climb the boulders and rocks formations and camp in the wild in the shadow for the night.

Day 10 & 11 - Etosha
An early rise for a drive north to Etosha and some of most unique game viewing experiences in Africa. We spend our days visiting the abundant water holes for some excellent game photography, and evenings next to the campfire. After supper we relax at some of the finest floodlit waterholes in the world.

Day 12 - Rundu
We leave Etosha and head for Rundu on the Kavango River. We have the option of enjoying a sunset cruise if we have the time.

Day 13 - Northern Namibia
As we make our way towards Botswana and the Okavango Delta, we take the road less travelled and pass some interesting local sights. The evening is spent around the campfire taking in the sounds of the African night. We have the choice of visiting the Mahango Game Park this afternoon or tomorrow morning.

Day 14 to 16 - Okavango Delta
We arrive at the gateway to the Okavango and await our transfer by 4x4 and speedboat to our Delta base camp. On the rare occasion that someone chooses not to experience the Delta, we drop them at a local campsite where they can relax for a couple of days. The Okavango Delta option is the highlight of the tour for many! (Price=US$135) We strongly recommend you take up this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! We spend our days exploring the winding channels of the Delta in makoros, going on nature walks and enjoying the solitude of this unique pristine wilderness area.

Day 17 - Caprivi
Today we leave the Delta behind and pass through the Caprivi in Namibia, camping under the stars on the banks of the Kwando River.

Day 18 - Chobe
Today we drive to our camp on the banks of the Chobe River. The afternoon is spent on an optional boat cruise into the renowned Chobe National Park, an excellent opportunity for viewing some of the best of African wildlife.

Day 19 - Victoria Falls
We depart Kasane and head for the vibrant town of Victoria Falls. We arrive at our final destination around noon and after lunch we have time to visit the Falls. The popular optional sunset cruise includes dinner and drinks.

Day 20 - Victoria Falls
Sadly, this is the final day of the tour. Most people will spend the day White Water Rafting – a not-to-be-missed experience of a lifetime! Vic Falls offers many exciting challenges for the adventurous, extreme sport lover. The last evening can be spent together as a group at a local restaurant, recounting our tour experiences and adventures.

As another option, you may choose to simply do the first or second half of the tour - great for those with less time available!
