DAY 1 Hlane Game Reserve
Leaving from Durban we head straight for Swaziland and Hlane national Park. A long drive will be rewarded with a late afternoon game walk with the opportunity to get close to rhinos and elephants on foot.

Day 2 Maputo
We spend the morning driving around the park where we'll see lions and cheetahs roaming wild. After lunch we head on through to Maputo where we'll spend two nights at a backpackers.

Day 3 MAPUTO
Today is spent exploring Maputo , visiting museums, markets or whatever takes your fancy in this vibrant city, a refreshing change in culture to South Africa . In the evening we'll eat out at the fish market or another place of your choice. (This is the only night we eat out at your expense).

Day 4 Morungulo
Leaving early we head up into the tropics, to Morungulo just north of Maxixe. You'll get your first taste of paradise swimming in the Indian Ocean from our campsite on the palm-lined beach.

Day 5 Vilanculos
A short drive takes us through to Vilanculos. You'll have the afternoon free to explore the local markets, laze on the beach and swim, or get into a game of soccer/volleyball with the locals.

Day 6 Benguera Island
We pack all our kit into a dhow (local sailing boat) and head for Benguera Island in the Bazaruto Archipelago National Park . After lunch we'll embark on a group hike to explore the island - lakes, dunes, crocs, local villages, shells - and get back to watch the sunset.

Day 7 Benguera Island
Another day in paradise on Benguera. There's also the popular option of going snorkelling at 2 mile reef, one of the best snorkelling spots in Mozambique !

Day 8 Inhambane
An early start, we take our dhow back to Vilalankulos, load up the truck and then head off for Inhambane. Now for a bit of luxury, we'll spend 3 nights at Barra lodge and we won't be camping!

Day 9-10 Inhambane
We have plenty of time to relax and enjoy the beautiful beaches at Barra, and the great pool at the lodge. For the active there are loads of optional activities: try sunset horse rides, adrenaline fuelled quad biking, snorkelling, diving or just chilling out in the Jacuzzi!

Day 11 Casa Lisa
Today we head south for an overnight camp at Casa Lisa. We'll stop near Xai-Xai for lunch and a swim.

Day 12 Kosi Bay
Crossing over the Bay at Maputo on the ferry takes us from city life into the bush. It's an adventurous 4 hour drive through to Kosi Bay where few people get to see the unspoilt wilderness.

Day 13 Kosi Bay
Kosi Bay is famous for its Fish Traps (Utswayelo), we'll join some locals to try and spear our dinner the traditional way, there is also the opportunity to snorkel in the estuary and get in some hiking. After lunch we'll pack up and head to St Lucia for our last night in hutted accommodation (no camping).

Day 14 Durban
We drive to Durban arriving about 1pm where we'll drop you off at your respective backpackers.
